Composition of the Committee
The Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning (the Committee) is chaired by the President of the Council of Ministers and has the following 11 permanent members:
- the Minister for the Economy and Finance (CIPE Deputy Chairman)
- the Minister for Foreign Affairs
- the Minister for Economic Development, Infrastructure and Transport
- the Minister for Labour and Social Policies
- the Minister for Agricultural and Forestry Policies
- the Minister for the Environment and the Protection of the Soil and Sea
- the Minister for Cultural Goods and Activities
- the Minister for Education, Universities and Research
- the Minister for European Affairs
- the Minister for Relations with the Regions, Tourism and Sport
- the Chairman of the Conference of the Presidents of the Autonomous Regions and Provinces
In the absence of the President of the Council of Ministers, the Committee is chaired by the Deputy Chairman. The Secretary of the Committee is Fabrizio Barca, Minister for Territorial Cohesion.
The following participate in the meetings of the Committee:
- Undersecretary of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers
- State Accountant General
- Governor of the Bank of Italy
- President of Istat
The Chairman may invite any of the following to participate in the meetings of the Committee:
- Ministers who are not members of the Committee whose functions include matters on the agenda;
- heads of institutions and public entities in relation to matters on the agenda;
- representatives of the regions and provinces when, for instance, the agenda includes items concerning infrastructure works referred to in the Objective Law (Law 443/2001);
- the General Secretary of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
